Who I am

I'm Andy. I've been a personal trainer for over twelve years, I'm a qualified nutritionist through Mac Nutrition University, and I'm a chef. I live and work in Belfast.

Most of what I do comes down to one idea. The goal isn't to make people thinner. It's to help them become someone who doesn't need rescuing every January. Stronger, more confident, and happy in their own skin.

The story

I was always into sport. Then a head injury left a cyst against my brain. For two years I couldn't play anything or even shake my head. Specialists, scans, and very nearly an operation, until the pain went away on its own.

After my A levels I went into the civil service and kept training. One day I was sitting on the leg press, looking across at the bench, too scared to walk over to it. I sat there and decided.

"I'm going to learn everything I can about fitness, because I don't want anybody ever to feel like that."

What I'm doing now

For years I sold my time an hour at a time. I'm changing that. I'm building Lean Scene into something that helps far more people than I could ever train in person, and I'm doing it in the open.

Slow mornings, training and looking after myself keep me right. I'm curious about mindset, faith and the bigger questions, and I talk about all of it on Instagram.
